Defence Section

The British Defence Section in Bangladesh is located in the British High Commission in Dhaka. The Defence Adviser, Lt Col Philip Spicer (Royal Tank Regiment) is a serving military officer representing the UK Chief of Defence Staff and assists the High Commissioner in delivering the Strategic, Corporate and Annual objectives required by HMG throughout the year. The Defence Adviser is assisted by Sgt Barry Chiverton.

The primary role of the Defence Section in Bangladesh is to provide advice and support to the British High Commissioner on defence-related matters.

The Defence Section engages with Bangladesh's military authorities, provides training assistance and capability development, assists inward and outward visits and promotes the sale of British military equipment.
